There is a powerful tide of sleep within you waiting to be released

Sleep Therapy

Restorative sleep is the bedrock of our overall health and wellness. Sleep is how we recover, integrate our experiences, and heal our minds and bodies. A significant portion of our new cell production and tissue healing happens during sleep. Without it, we become hollow shells of ourselves, barely awake in our lives.

Research shows that when you improve your sleep, the rest of your health follows. Improved sleep is directly correlated to improved mental health, physical health, reduced pain, and a host of other symptoms and diseases.

Whether you need some simple support with new habits and sleep hygiene tools, or you suffer from long-term chronic insomnia or other sleep disorders, sleep therapy can help. I utilize number of holistic and evidence-based strategies for improving the depth and quality of your sleep.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
for Insomnia (CBT-I)

If you meet the criteria for chronic insomnia, we might choose to implement CBT-I, which I am trained in as a sleep specialist. CBT-I has been thoroughly proven as the gold standard and most effective treatment for insomnia and sleep disorders (yes, even more effective than sleep medications). If adhered to, this approach is highly effective, with multiple studies finding 70-80% of participants showing significant improvements in sleep.

CBT-I is a short-term, intensive behavioral approach to recovering your natural sleep instincts. We use a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, sleep education, mindfulness, and behavioral strategies that are highly effective in consolidating and producing quality sleep.

How long does CBT-I Take?

Generally, CBT-I can be effectively delivered in 6-8 sessions, ranging from 30 to 90 minutes. We can meet weekly or bi-weekly, but for greatest impact and to maintain safety and support during the more rigorous phases of interventions, I highly recommend weekly sessions for the first 3-4 weeks.

Waves

How much does it cost?

Session costs range from $90-250, depending on length of session. I always seek to utilize the most cost-effective strategies, and will shorten sessions if appropriate.

Will I still have control over my sleep schedule?

CBT-I is by nature highly prescriptive and based on your sleep data. But we work together to find a schedule that you can maintain and adjust as needed. All sleep schedules are short-term interventions, and are based directly on your progress and feedback.

CBT-I is not for everyone. If you wonder if it might be right for you, or are curious to learn more about CBT-I, please reach out to schedule an initial sleep assessment and/or a free 15-minute consultation.
